My art is constantly influenced by various films, comics, and video games. Before the release of Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, there was lots of speculation about whether the presence of the Joker would be felt in any way, having been such a force in the previous film.

Even with Bane being the main antagonist, it was possible that there would be some dark figure behind the scenes controlling everything. That figure turned out to be Talia Al Ghul (damnit), but this painting is an alternate universe tribute to the trilogy that made superheroes feel real.
